Dr Shahid brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having trained in hospital medicine and worked as a medical registrar in the North West Region of England. He later pursued an MSc in Health & Social Care Management at Oxford. Since 2009, he has been actively involved in primary care, working as a GP Partner in Middleton. Dr Shahid also serves as a Foundation Programme Clinical Supervisor at North West Deanery and is involved in medical student supervision and examination at Manchester University.

Throughout his career, Dr Shahid has demonstrated leadership as the Clinical Director of Middleton Primary Care network (PCN) and has championed the integration of health and social care pathways by leading a team of Social Prescribing Link Workers. He is passionate about finding innovative solutions to address the healthcare challenges faced in the modern age, particularly in the realm of long-term physical and mental health conditions.
