CIC Receives National Lottery Grant to Expand Digital Media Training in Forth Valley

Stirling-based social enterprise Ceangail CIC has been awarded National Lottery Community Funding to enhance its digital media training programme through its My Scotland project. The funding aims to provide young people aged 16 and over in the Forth Valley area with practical digital skills and opportunities.

The investment will support the development and implementation of additional My Scotland initiatives, where young participants collaborate to promote a local attraction in their community. Through hands-on experience in digital media production, including content creation, storytelling, and promotion, participants will not only gain valuable skills but also make a positive impact in their community.

Ceangail’s approach focuses on practical learning and market relevance. By involving young people in their steering group and providing clear objectives and guidance, the program encourages ownership and accountability among participants. Skills in digital media, teamwork, and employability are developed, creating a pathway to further learning, volunteering, or employment.

Thanks to the National Lottery funding, Ceangail can expand its reach beyond Stirling and into the Forth Valley. The investment will support program design, delivery, and partnership working to ensure the training remains accessible, relevant, and outcome-oriented.

In response to the funding award, Ceangail’s Executive Director Matt McGrandles expressed his appreciation for the support and how it will contribute to sustainable growth and delivery discipline. “The My Scotland project has already shown strong results by combining skills development with community-based promotion. The young people who have participated in the program have thoroughly enjoyed it, and this funding will allow us to expand our proven model, reach more young people, and make a measurable impact in our communities.”

The National Lottery is made possible by players across the UK, providing organizations like Ceangail with the resources to invest in people, skills, and local assets. The funding recognizes the value of practical, community-led training that benefits both individuals and society as a whole.

Over the next two years, Ceangail CIC will begin rolling out the expanded My Scotland program across the Forth Valley. Any interested groups can contact Ceangail at office@ceangail.org for more information and to secure a training program.
