This year marks a major milestone for Hancocks Jewellers as the iconic Manchester business celebrates 165 years of excellence. Established in 1860, Hancocks remains the city’s longest-standing jeweller, known for its exceptional gemstones and handcrafted treasures.
Operating independently since its inception, Hancocks has served families and collectors across Greater Manchester for generations. From its elegant boutique at 29 King Street, the jeweller offers a curated selection of diamonds, coloured stones, and one-of-a-kind bespoke designs.
Josiah Hancock founded the company during Manchester’s industrial heyday, initially offering clock-winding services to the city’s affluent manufacturers. It wasn’t long before the business evolved, opening a storefront in Piccadilly before making its permanent home on King Street—a location it has occupied for well over a century.
“Celebrating 165 years of heritage in Manchester is a moment of immense pride for the entire team.”
